Kevin Davidson wasn’t on the preseason watchlist for the Walter Payton Award as the top offensive player in the FCS.
After all, he’d only made one career start prior to this year. Now, after seven more starts, the Princeton senior quarterback has played his way onto that list, joining the top players in the country. That’s the kind of senior year he’s had.
Davidson has completed 149 of 212 passes for 2,040 yards and 19 touchdowns, with three interceptions. He is currently second in the FCS in completion percentage (70.3), fourth in passing efficiency and fifth in average yards per attempt, and he leads the Ivy League in all of those plus passing touchdowns and passing yards.
He has also vaulted into seventh place all-time at Princeton in career touchdown passes, and his completion percentage and average yards per attempt are Princeton’s all-time best among players with 250 or more attempts.
Davidson and the Tigers will be at Yankee Stadium Saturday (3:30) for the showdown between unbeatens as 7-0 Princeton takes on 7-0 Dartmouth.
The Dartmouth “First In Football” preview podcast has also been released. Listen here.
