Football Announces 2023 Schedule

PRINCETON – The Princeton Football Team has announced its 2023 schedule.

The Tigers, who went 8-2 last season, will host five home games this year at Princeton Stadium starting in September when they take on Bryant and ending the year against Ivy opponent Yale. Returning for the Princeton include the Bushnell Cup winner for Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year, Liam Johnson, and five other All-Ivy selections like quarterback Blake Stenstrom who posted an Ivy League-best 2,742 passing yards and 69.4 completion percentage.

Princeton begins the 2023 campaign on the West Coast with a trip to UC San Diego on Sept. 16 (4 p.m.) These two teams last faced off in 2017 with the Tigers’ last trip to San Diego coming in 2014.

Head coach Bob Surace‘s squad welcomes Bryant for the home opener the following week (Sept. 23, 3 p.m.) for Future Tigers’ Day and the annual pre-game Princeton Varsity Club Youth Clinic.

It’s a national television (ESPNU) contest and Ivy League opener for Princeton as Columbia comes to town on Sept. 29 (Friday, 7 p.m.) for University Day. The month of October then starts with a home contest vs. Lafayette on Oct. 7 (1 p.m.).

Princeton’s first road Ivy battle is at Brown on Oct. 14 (12:30 p.m.). The University’s Homecoming Week is highlighted by the Harvard game on Oct. 21 (1 p.m.) and a celebration of all things Orange and Black. Surace’s unit heads back on the road at Cornell (Oct. 28, 1 p.m.) and Dartmouth (Nov. 3, 7 p.m.). The Tigers and Big Green will be televised nationally on ESPNU.

The defending Ivy League champion, Yale Bulldogs, finish the home portion on the schedule on Nov. 11 when we celebrate active and retired military members with our Salute For Service. This contest will be on the ESPN family of networks with a kickoff time that will be determined at a later date.

The 2023 season wraps up at Penn on Nov. 18 at 1 p.m.
