PRINCETON – The Princeton Tigers had six players named to the BlueBloods Preseason All-Ivy List.
Blake Stenstrom (QB), Jalen Travis (OL), Liam Johnson (LB) and Ozzie Nicholas (LB) were first team selections while Will Perez (LB) and Jalen Newman (DB) were second team honorees.
Stenstrom was second-team All-Ivy in 2022 after posting an Ivy League-best 2,742 passing yards and 69.4 completion percentage, while ranking second in the league in completions (243) and third in touchdown passes (16). Stenstrom’s completion percentage was the second-best single-season mark for a Princeton quarterback in program history, trailing only Bushnell Cup winner Chad Kanoff’s 2017 mark of 73.2%.
Travis was also a second-team All-Ivy pick for an offensive line that helped the offense average over 367 yards and 27 points per game in his first year as the starter.
Johnson has already earn a number of accolades this off-season after picking up the Bushnell Cup in 2022 as the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year.
Nicholas was second-team All-Ivy last campaign after he finished second on the team and sixth in the Ivy League with 75 tackles. He got stronger as the year went on and averaged nearly 12 tackles per game over the final three weeks of the season. Nicholas added four tackles for loss during the year and recorded his first interception at Yale.
Perez had a career year in 2022, recording 36 tackles with two stops for a loss and a sack.
Newman saw time in every contest last season, recording 18 tackles.
Princeton will take on the University of San Diego to begin the 2023 season on Sept. 16 at 4 p.m.
